That Pro-Prosecution one-minded woman did a horrible job of airing Hugo Selenski's case on CNN last night. She didn't even know the case. In my opinion, if you are going to be talking about a case on your show, then you should at least know the whole case inside and out. Also, of course they chose to air Hugo's only bad photo of him from the night they arrested him back in June of 2003. He shaved his head as a joke, and that is NOT what Hugo normally looks like. I just hate how she is completely one sided (prosecution only) and doesn't give the defense the benefit of the doubt nor even the time of day. Attorney Pike was good enough to accept the call on the show and Nancy Grace barely let him speak. Grrr..I'm just annoyed because I would have loved to hear more from the defense's side. They didn't tell us anything more than we already knew, actually she couldn't get the facts straight - we all know more than she told us on that stupid show. Oh, whoopee freakin doo, we all learned that this will be a death penalty case, we ALL knew that was coming. Whatever - what a total waste of 30 minutes out of my day - I should have known that Nancy Grace wasn't worth it!
I decided to email some comments to Nancy Grace and just thought I'd share it here.
"Whoa, whoa, WHOA! I watched your show on Monday night (June 19), specifically the part about Hugo Selenski. I heard you state that you are a trial lawyer. Then why don't you understand that the jury acquitted Selenski of murder because of insufficient evidence? I know that, and I'm no lawyer. And it must be great to have been a member of that jury and be ridiculed for doing their duty! Why would you do such a thing? And where is the body count of 18 coming from????
No wonder the Luzerne County's DA office wasn't happy with the outcome! But did they really expect anything else? There was NOTHING that would have stood up in court to prove that Selenski was the perpetrator. Sure, it may look really bad to have dead bodies on your property, but it doesn't mean you're the one who put them there. Look at his "friends" to begin with...
As for the pharmacist that Selenski is going to trial for, he's the same pharmacist that was convicted of illegal sales of narcotics out of his pharmacy. As a pharmacist myself, that's not much difference from the first two alleged drug-dealer victims. I do not believe anyone should die the way they did, but I think it's funny that the assistant DA failed to bring that little tidbit of information up.
I truly hope that the people on the next jury (and any other jury for that matter) were not listening to your show Monday night! Comments like yours may just scare a jurist into doing something other than just taking the testimony and evidence presented into account in deciding a defendant's fate. You should know better.
Since it seems like you may be a little out-of-touch with our justice system, I will state that a defendant will be acquitted when the prosecution doesn't prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defedant committed a crime. They didn't do it the first time, and they probably won't the second time.
P.S. Our astute lead DA Dave Lupas has lowered himself to shouting matches with Selenski and whining about the attention Selenski receives. Selenski's family has made "Lupas vs. Hugo Round 2" t-shirts illustrating this personal vendetta that is occuring. If you ever host this topic on your show again, I would recommend getting Selenski's side of the story from his family, instead of jumping to conclusions that he is guilty. They fully support him, and you should really think about that before going on national television to talk about a man you truly don't know anything about. Selenski's past may not be an illustrious one, but that certainly doesn't mean he's a murderer."
Nancy Grace is a disgrace to journalism. Anyone who knows anything about the Hugo Selenski story had to be shaking their head if they caught her act on CNN Headline News Monday night.
Grace, without hearing much evidence, found our jury guilty of letting a guilty man go.
Plus, she said Hugo is ugly, when he is arguably average.
And she praised the legal skills of John Pike, one of the water boys on the defense team in the first trial, without mention of courtroom virtuoso Demetrius Fannick, who tossed bones and shotgun pellets around and made people cry.
I could go on, but I’d have to watch the tape again, and that would be too much work. After all, I’m blogging today.
Still no reply from the NG camp; I'm not expecting one but I'll let you know if I do hear anything. NG is stupid, plain and simple, that's all I can come up with. She needs to go back to law school and she especially needs to get her eyes checked!
Maybe if she and Lupas get together, whether it'll be a one-night stand or marriage is up to them, they both will stop being such raging bitches!!! Ha ha...

First off, lets get something straight before i even get started. I am NOT part of this so-called Hugo Selenski "cult-following" that you refered to on your Monday, June 19th 8:00pm show. I am however someone who knows a whole lot more then you obviously do about this whole subject. I used to be a huge fan of yours until i saw your show which covered the Hugo Selenski situation. There was not one thing that came out of your mouth that had 100% truth behind it. There were not any bags of bones on Hugo's porch. You went and found the most horrible picture of Hugo that you could find and then have the nerve to say that you have no idea why there is such a huge Hugo "cult-following". If you were to see him in person or even knew him at all, you would see that he is very good looking. Then you have the nerve to say that the pharmacist was an innocent victim. What a bunch of crap! That same pharmacist was dealing prescription drugs along with his girlfriend! You had the nerve to say that Hugo just killed his "victim's" for money and no other reason. You couldnt be more wrong. If you noticed, the Times Leader journalist that was on your show would NOT give in to you and your falsifications. I applaud him. Where do you get off saying the nasty things that you said about the jury that found him not guilty? I was there for that whole trial. That jury did their job. They followed the rules that were spelled out to them. There was so many holes in the prosecutions evidence. Then you have the nerve to talk down about Atty. Fannick, who did his job, plain and simple. if you didn't know, he chose to only call 2 people to the stand for the defense even though he had somewhere around 30 people to call. Atty. Fannick knew that the prosecution had failed to prove their case and it wasn't necessary to call any more then the 2 that he did call. Now something else that just really got to me was the fact that you brought up that fact that Hugo stole a dirtbike. Do you know how old he was when he did that? Try around 13! You know what else, he wasn't alone when that happened, he was with a few KIDS and one of those being one of my brothers! Big deal! They were kids! The bike got returned to the owner and it was done and over and they ended up all being friends. So, after you brought up all these tiny little things that Hugo did in his past you then go on to say, "he's a serial killer" due to all these different things. Well then, how do you explain the fact that my brother joined the United States Marine Corps and is doing quite well? Actually, my brother was with Hugo almost all the time during their high school years. My brother was just as "bad" as Hugo, if not worse when they were kids. You also have no clue of what kind of family life Hugo had growing up. I do. I was often over the Selenski house. Let me just say, it wasn't quite the perfect setting to be raising 7 children. I am going to conclude this email now because I can just go on and on about how much you were wrong on your June 19th, 8:00pm Nancy Grace show. My phone is still ringing off the hook with family and friends of mine calling me to complain about the Nancy Grace show and how it was just one huge joke. I will no longer trust a single word you say about anyone nor will most of Luzerne County!
